Pair of 18th century trumeau, bucolic paintings pictures with oval frames surmounted by a Louis XVI style ribbon bow. The first pastoral panel depicts a shepherd wearing a tricorn hat, playing the flute and accompanying two cows, a goat and sheeps. Very beautiful landscape in the background with a river, castles, a boat and sheeps. The second painting shows a mill with a paddle wheel. On a peninsula stands a young woman seen from behind with a child in her arms. She looks at a man who greets her on a foot-bridge mill, a young washerwoman launders her clothes in the river, at her side, a dog stands on a boat. Beautiful landscape in the distant background. These two paintings are characteristic of the 18th century French School. Antique paintings. Frames size: height 75 cm, width 46.5 cm.
