Very important Rhine walnut cupboard with Renaissance style, from the late 17th century. This alsatian piece of furniture rests on six molded feet under a raised cornice base. The apron is adorned with two large and three small moulded reserves, working in intarsis, light wood of dolphins and scrolls. The central part of this antique piece of furniture is adorned on the jambs and the frame with three tapered columns with capitals carved with 3 winged angel heads in the Rhine Renaissance style. A moulded reserve with dolphin inlaid on its bases. This ancient wardrobe opens with two doors decorated with 2 large storage areas and a small moulded storage area with clear wood inlaid decoration with different dolphin motifs. The pediment is inlaid with 3 reserves decorated with dolphins. Large overhanging high cornice. Entrance of lock on the right door concealed by a bronze dolphin in patinated bronze, movable vertically. Fixed hanger on left door. Key with hollow bolt, crafted. Rhineland-style timer lock, chiselled concealed. This piece of furniture coming from Kaysersberg, Alsace, was appraised in 2014 for a value of 12 000 € by Mrs Tina Bernaerts, certified CVV expert in Furniture, Works of Art, Painting. The certificate of expertise will be sent to the buyer.
