The 1966 Porsche 356 BT6 convertible that we present for sale is an evolution of style of the vintage 1962 receiving the name of T6. This collection car was designed on the basis of the Volkswagen Beetle by Porsche Ferry. It is the symbol of the first car of the German Porsche brand, designed by Erwin Komenda. Its air-cooled four-cylinder Boxer engine, its agility, lightness and quality of manufacture will bring a strong reputation to Porsche. It will first be available in coupes and convertibles, then in speedster, with a power ranging from 40 horsepower for the first models to 155 horsepower for the Porsche 356 Carrera 2000 GS/GT. From 1948 to 1965, four different series were produced, with 76,000 units, including the pre-A Porsche 356 from 1948 to 1955, produced in a coupe and convertible, first in Austria and then in Stuttgart. Its version Speedster 356 will be created in 1954 for the US Porsche importer who wanted a more streamlined and affordable version, following the huge success of the brand in the United States, especially with movie stars such as James Dean Model before using the Porsche 550 competition model. The front hood of the Porsche 356 BT6 becomes more square than the previous series, with two vertical air intake grilles integrated in this rounded front, as well as a ventilation grid between the windscreen wipers in front of the windscreen, off roadster version. The fuel tank at the front of this sports car becomes flatter and less bulky, its filling from the outside with a filling flap on the front right wing. At the rear, its engine hood receives on the coupe 2 ventilation grilles instead of one and the rear window is enlarged. The engines are similar to the previous model, the Porsche 356 BT6 being produced in 4 coupe, cabriolet, Karmann (1962) and roadster (1962) cars. The latter will be produced with fewer than 250 copies.
