This majestic Renaissance style oak and ebony marquetry credence is supported by two magnificent animal bronze sculptures of lions, on a base with ressauts decorated with motifs of shells, pearls or interlacing. The two-leaf cabinet body is structured around three twisted columns with composite capitals, with the base adorned with three magnificent juvenile heads. The decorative register of this highly carved piece of furniture is typical of the Renaissance decorations, with the arches of the doors flanked by pilasters decorated with putto, vases and fleurs-de-lis, which rest on a base of foliated interlacing motifs encircling two angels holding a crown. The interior of this Troubadour dresser is also richly carved, with a floral decoration on the doors which is hollowed out. Exceptional 19th century period piece of furniture.
