The Stewart SF-3 is an english Formula 1 entered by the Stewart Grand Prix team for the 1999 Formula 1 World Championship. It is driven by Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and the Englishman Johnny Herbert. It is the first single-seater car designed on a computer. The season starts with a fifth place for Rubens Barrichello at the Australian Grand Prix. In Brazil, the Brazilian, who started from third place on the grid, gave up because of an engine failure while claiming to be on the podium. In the next round, which took place in San Marino, the Brazilian, who has been slim since the sixth place, finished third. In Canada, Herbert managed to score his first points for the British team. Rubens Barrichello's good performances paid off in the French Grand Prix: the Brazilian rider from Magny-Cours took the only pole position in the team. In the race, Barrichello led most of the race before succumbing to attacks from Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Mika Häkkinen and finishing third. The highlight of the team's career came at the Grand Prix d' Europe, where Herbert started from far away on the grid, marking the team's only victory in Formula 1, while Barrichello finished third. These good performances and the arrival of the two Stewart drivers in Malaysia allowed the British team to take fourth place in the manufacturers' championship at the Williams F1 Team. Rubens Barrichello takes seventh place in the drivers' championship with 21 points while Johnny Herbert is eighth with 15 pts.
