The most powerful hybrid road supercar by the Italian automaker Ferrari, is the LaFerrari, the successor to the Enzo, result of work carried out on the FXX and Millechili. This officially named Ferrari F70, is presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. The objective was to improve the vehicle's performance by reducing its weight more than increasing power, thanks to the intensive use of composite materials, the LaFerrari weighing 1,370 kg. With a total power output of 963 horsepower (128 hp per litre), a torque of 900 Nm, a power-to-weight ratio of 1.65 kg/hp and a torque-to-weight ratio of 542 Nm/T, the LaFerrari is powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine with a capacity of 800 hp and an electric kinetic energy recovery system inspired by Formula 1, Hy-Kers system, with an additional 163 hp of power that allows it to have a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. It is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the car is rear-wheel drive.
Created on a carbon fiber monocoque structure developed by the team of Ferrari's F1 technical director, Rory Byrne, this rare Ferrari model will be produced in body design by the Flavio Manzoni team and not by Pininfarina. The LaFerrari is equipped with a sophisticated dual-triangular suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear and carbon ceramic disc brakes. It has a number of high-performance electronic controls such as the ESC, ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake distributor), EF1-Trac F1 electronic traction control integrated into the hybrid system, third generation E-Diff 3 electronic differential, SCM-E Frs magnetorheological damping with twin solenoid (Al-Ni tube) and active aerodynamics, controlled by 21 on-board computers. Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting develops the bodywork computer system and the steering wheel has controls and gear levers integrated directly into the steering column. The bridge between the two seats is home to other instruments linked to the dual-clutch gearbox. The La Ferrari will be produced at only 500 units in coupe, then in spider with 210 Aperta in 2016-2017. At the end of 2016, one of the LaFerrari cars was auctioned off for US$ 7 million, the highest value for a 21st century automobile sold.
