Bibliography

This desk is the result of the ateler of the Jacob Desmalter house born of the association of famous cabinetmakers Jacob, François Honoré Georges (1770-1841) and his father Georges (1739-1814). Rectangular in shape with its powerful console feet finished with claws, it is characteristic of the work of the House Jacob Desmalter circa 1810.We find these pure forms, the abundant use of mahogany without flourish and these clawed feet, especially in the desk which was delivered for the emperor at the Grand Trianon.
