About

Charles X neoclassical paintings, pair of portraits of Prince Jules de Polignac (1780-1847) and his second wife Marie Charlotte, Countess of Choiseul (1792-1864). He holds the title of Prince de Polignac from 1820 to 1847. He is Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Council from 8 August 1829 to 31 July 1830 under Charles X. In 1824 he remarried with Charlotte, Countess of Choiseul, widow of Count Caesar of Choiseul (died in 1821), born (Maria) Charlotte Parkyns (January 6, 1792 - September 1864). These two pictures are rectangular and monogrammed GDB behind the Marie-Louise oval. Format with frame: 96 X 83 cm. The gilded frames are of the same period as the canvases.
