About

The Alfa Romeo 6C for sale is an old model 1750 automobile, its name derives from its 6-cylinder in-line engine. This vintage car is part of a wide range of the Italian manufacturer with a first model which was presented at the Milan Motor Show in 1925. This Alfa Romeo, first designed by engineer Vittorio Jano, is produced in version 6C 1500 from 1926 to 1929, 6C 1750 from 1929 to 1933, 6C 1900 in 1933, 6C 2300 from 1934 to 1937 and 6C 2500 from 1939 to 1951 for a power of 44 to 87 horses, in displacement from 1487 cc to 2443 cc and a speed of 110 to 145 km/h. This line of cars will have a very good track record in competition thanks to a very modern design and a weight-to-power ratio considerably more advantageous than some competitors of epoch, with more imposing cylinder. The sport and compressor versions, including dual overhead camshaft and pre-war boost system, will give an incredible track record by winning the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, 24 Hours of Spa, and even the circuit of Modena with the famous Enzo Ferrari.

Presented at the Rome Motor Show in 1929, the Alfa Rome 6C 1750 is a legend model of the manufacturer. It delivers 46 horses in the basic version, 52 hp in Sport version, 64 hp in Super Sport, 85 hp in its version with compressor, the 6 copies of the most desirable Grand Sport Testa Fissa developed in 1930 issuing 102 hp for a top speed of 170 km/h. The 1750 will be produced in 2 579 copies. Although the brand was one of the first to produce its own bodyworks in the early 1930s, the 6C 1750 is also bodied by Touring, Farina, Castagna or Garavini in Italy or James Young in London. The Super Sport versions with compressor will mostly be Zagato spider two-seaters. 1931 will also mark the aesthetic climax of this model with the Gran Turismo Compressore with long wheelbase and perfect proportions.

The high-powered Alfa 1750 model we present for sale is a two-seater, uniquely designed, with a redesign bodywork from 1936 to be featured at a renowned European car show and inaugurated by a famous crowned head. This vehicle has a fantastic line, very ahead of its time. Its state of preservation is perfect.
